Dear Parents,
Another action-packed few months ahead after an action packed Summer 2015. Our Annual Camp In Fota Island Co. Cork was a resounding success enjoyed by Cubs, Scouts & Leaders alike- Saturn Pack went away alone for first time in 3 years but we still managed to total 50!! For those who joined the Summer Camps at the Den beautiful fun-filled days were spent raft building, Sailing & Kayaking and were enjoyed by everyone. Thanks to our Georgia & Hugh for organising & running them.
Our Chief Scout Award for 2015 is a work in progress and plans for this year’s Expedition will be circulated soon. The Presentation of the 2014 Chief Scout Award will take place in The Maritime Museum in Dun Laoghaire at 7pm on Fri 2nd of Oct 2015, we hope all the participants and parents will be able to join us for this very important occasion in a very appropriate nautical location!
This year as usual we will be losing a number of Cubs as they progress onwards on their Scouting journey. The “Going-Up” ceremony will take place in the den on Wed 4th November 2015 for the boys and Thurs 5th November 2015 for the girls, we wish them every success and enjoyment into the future and thank you, their parents, for all your support over the past few years. We simply could not attempt so much without it!. Parents are invited and encouraged to attend.
Our next Camp will be in Belfast Sat 24th – Mon26th Oct 2015. We hope to visit a number of popular locations there such as W5, Titanic trail & quarter, do an open top bus tour of city…etc We will be hiring a bus to bring us there & return. Cost €60, please note that spending money must be in sterling – £5 per day is the limit. Money can be paid in instalments from this Fri onwards.
