We then practiced our straddle jump into the water.
We put on our buoyancy aids and life jackets and talked about the difference between the two. (Life jackets helps keep you face up whether you are conscious or not!!).
We also practiced our throw ropes. Half of us swam out to the middle of the pool and the other half took turns with the throw ropes to rescue us from the water. We then swapped over so everyone got a turn.
Finally we got the kayaks into the water and we all practiced rolling over in the canoes. Amazingly, everyone was really calm with no fear at all.
What a brave bunch of cubs!!!
